Facilities & Faculty

Williams Art Gallery during the 2019 Winter Visual Arts Opening.

Student artists practice, perfect, and perform their craft throughout Lawrence Academy's Art Wing located in the Gray & Ferguson Buildings.

The Richardson-Mees Performing Arts Center (RMPAC) offers young actors, directors, designers, and technicians a professional environment, with seating for more than 500. Within the RMPAC is a theatre classroom/theatre production rehearsal space and an expansive scene shop. There is also the contemporary Conant Gallery, which opened in 2007 after a renovation of the Ferguson Building, where professional artists exhibit their work throughout each school year and our Honors Visual Art students produce an exhibit of their work at the end of each year.

In the Gray Building is the Williams Art Center, which features a full suite of visual arts classrooms and studios, a photo lab, a dance studio, music practice rooms, a recording studio, and the 100-seat Recital Hall. Also in the Gray Building is the Williams Gallery, in which students exhibit their work during Arts Week at the end of each trimester. Each exhibit opening includes refreshments and performances by student musicians followed by the week’s first dance performances which takes place in our Black Box dance studio.

Meet the Team

Lawrence Academy’s arts faculty are professionally trained creatives who understand the importance of using a student’s chosen medium as a vehicle for their self-expression. They guide and motivate young artists to develop both skills and an understanding of themselves in order to develop their creative voice.
